In our recent visit to chandrapur, Mishti got quite mellifluent in Bangla. Until she got her pronunciations right, Maa, I, Boudi and her cousins Shona and Piku kept correcting her.
She hated being a student all the time and probably was in search of a student whom she can teach.
Her search ended when she found out that Adi did not speak in Bangla.
Initially she researched about why I and all the people in chandrapur speak in Bangla and why her Papa and Daduji - Dadiji don't (of course by asking almost a hundred questions to me).
Once she confirmed that her Papa doesn't know Bangla, she started with Bangla lessons every night for Adi :D
And one day...while giving Bangla lessons to Adi
Mishti- (almost frustrated) Mamma... what do you call 'Papa' in Bangla?????
Me- "Baba"....why ...what happened?
Mishti- Then why does Papa says 'BLACK SHIP', every time I call him 'Baba'.... grrrrrrr 😡😡😡
